I have extensive building trade skills so installing the AC unit was quite simple for me to tackle myself. I had to have a branch 220v electrical panel added to service the unit. The only problem I had was finding a HVAC contractor to test the unit for leaks prior to firing it up. Since most licensed HVAC contractors don't want to touch so small a job or they don't want the liability of signing off on the leak test if they did not install the unit themselves. 5-star Works Very Well, Good Customer Service From Ecomfort Aug 27, 2016

I installed the indoor and outdoor units myself including all the electrical work. Initially I installed GFCI circuit breaker per Daikin's installation manual, but it tripped every time the compressor cycled on. I replaced it with regular 20A, 220V, single-phase circuit breaker and it's worked fine ever since. I had a certified HVAC tech install the line sets and test for leaks.

Installed this system in a uninsulated summer cottage. Quick to install, I had to do some carpentry work to re-support the ceiling where I cut out 2 x 2's but when I was done it really turned out better that I expected. I'll definitely buy Gree again and will recommend EComfort to all. They were the absolute best.

The filters required are a strange size, like 24 X 28. Probably even God doesn't know why.

After waiting 26 days to get my Effinity 93 110000 btu unit, I installed it only to find out the propeller fan was very noisy. It is louder than my air compressor. Modine will not honor the warranty unless you use a professional installer. If you are a do it yourselfer, don't buy this unit. The propeller motor is cheap and creates a lot of vibration noise. Even if the motor was replaced under warranty, it would still be the same noisy motor. If you want to be able to talk in the vicinity... more
