I replaced a Dunkirk XEB-3 (20 yrs. old) with the Dunkirk boiler above. The new one is all most identical to the old one, that is the pipes were located same as the old, so gas and water lines were easily plumbed. The old electrical wires could be used although lengthened to connect to the digital controls. The circulators location has changed, it's still provided with its wiring provided. Venting is the same as the old one. I was happy to get another Dunkirk that installed easily.

Envision the air flow between where the air will eventually come in and where it will be exhausted once you install the ductwork. I installed this unit about a month ago to heat/cool our 3rd floor loft (finished attic) and it has been working flawlessly so far. It is energy efficient and was straightforward to install using the instructions provided and the appropriate tools (torque wrench, vacuum pump in addition to standard tools). I did purchase a genuine Mitsubishi lineset (MLS143812T-15) elsewhere and found that the torque value of 25-30 ft-lb specified for the 3/8" flare connection was too much and it... more
