Our main house is cooled by a 2.5 ton conventional a/c. I replaced that unit in June with a new American Standard (Trane) a/c. On the back of the house is a Florida room 44' x 12' that was not air conditioned. Three sides of the room are sliding glass doors, circa 1989, overlooking a lake and facing east. I actually bought 5 Pensotti Wall Panel Radiators, 3 of the 20" x 24" and two of these 20" X 48" units. They are replacing hot water baseboard heaters in a basement apartment. These heaters are stylish, extremely efficient and are priced very nicely. Installation was a snap using the included hardware, HOWEVER, I highly recommend purchasing an extra set of brackets for the 20" x 48" heater due to its weight. I bought this in-line fan to pump warm air into a chase containing hot and cold water pipes. When outdoor temperatures drop below 15 degrees Fahrenheit, the air in the chase falls below freezing, so I was worried that the pipes would freeze. This little fan together with flex duct (I stripped away the outer insulation) solved the problem. After researching many brands of ductless mini splits I decided on Daikin. They are a front runner in industry and edge out the Mitsubishi in performance. I installed the system myself and was pleased with the detailed instructions. You still need a certified HVAC installer to test the system for leaks and release the refrigerant. I was very happy to do business with eComfort as they were very knowledgeable and helpful when ordering the unit and line kit.
