Purchased this HRV to replace our 22-year old Mayaire unit. Didn't realize until the HRV arrived that it must hang for installation. My original unit sat on a table I built for it. So it took quite a while to find the right spot to have good access for straps, and not interfere with existing duct lines for old unit. I bought this in-line fan to pump warm air into a chase containing hot and cold water pipes. When outdoor temperatures drop below 15 degrees Fahrenheit, the air in the chase falls below freezing, so I was worried that the pipes would freeze. This little fan together with flex duct (I stripped away the outer insulation) solved the problem. Replaced existing 37 year old boiler. Old boiler still worked but needed to be moved so time for new. Installed per manual. Everything seems good. The blower motor has minor vibration. Pretty quiet overall. The internal pump curves matched old pump pretty closely, so hookup was nice and clean. Time will tell if it was the right choice.
