We replaced an Amana unit with the LG that claimed to be the quietest on the market. It is definitely quieter and we have had it installed for two weeks, running every day, however it is not quiet by any means. There is some type of groan towards shut down that lasts for about 10-15 seconds. It also runs more than the Amana did which I'm sure will result in higher electrical bills. The radiator works great. I have installed several of these in my home. The shipping is fast, however beware as the packing of this radiator is below what you'd hope. My radiator was dented on the end as the box was only taped together to make it large enough to hold the radiator.
